ABOUT
THE WOODS WE USE:
PINE: Eastern White Pine has been cherished
for its character, usefulness and versatility for generations.
Soft, light, and yellow in color, it less costly
than
hardwoods. The knots give it a unique character. It
is also a highly sustainable resource. We buy our
Pine
from select mills in New England, and are closely involved
in the grading and selection.
OAK:
We use Red Oak grown here in the Northeast.
Known for it's durability and coarse grain, it has
become one of the most popular woods for furniture.
Whether
clear-coated or stained, its deep grain comes to life.
Our suppliers practice responsible, sustained-yield
harvesting.
MAPLE: Also a Northern
Hardwood, also grown and harvested locally, Maple
is very light in color
and has a tendency toward interesting grain pattern
variations. Beautiful and durable, it can take
on a
wide range of looks depending on the finish used.
